Breeder Feeder, on the second floor of Breeder Art Gallery in the neighborhood of Metaxourgeio in Athens, is known for quality, innovation and respect for traditional tastes created by young, inspired chefs.
Architect Andreas Angelidakis designed the space basing his ideas on the recent history of Greece, and creating a ‘collage nation’ atmosphere. Furniture consists of a creative combination of ultra modern elements and secondhand pieces which are interchangeable. Rustic wooden chairs on white pedestals, chairs which are transformed into benches, traditional woven tapestries draped over smooth white surfaces unite the virtual with reality.
The new winter season at Breeder Feeder was inaugurated with a project by Gastronomic Collectiva: Farm to Table, which aims at finding, collecting and elaborating products depending on season, freshness and locality. Ingredients that had been neglected in Greek cuisine are enhanced in a new gastronomic voyage, which starts from small, local farms and reaches unique, delicate and traditional tastes. The collaboration with small, local farmers guarantees the freshness of ingredients and follows the most recent gastronomic tendencies.
Breeder Feeder has established the practice of 'Bring Your Own Bottle,' which you can enjoy with the delicious dishes prepared by Marko Rossi and Giannis Katsandris. Many ingredients are provided by food collector Radiki, and include wild herbs, vegetables, greens and fresh fruit. Some of the specialties served are lentil soup with the famous Englouvis lentils, white cheese and poached egg, wild greens with cream butter and lemon thyme, homemade bread pudding with butter, fresh eggs and orange honey.
