Tortuga Food Bar opened up in fall of 2014 in the neighborhood of Pangrati, Athens. It's the first slow food bar in town, with specialties such as the international tortilla and sophisticated but affordable street food.
The tortillas are made in-house daily and then served with fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables and various meats, in original combinations by Chef Marko Rossi. Arguably, they're the most unique, tastiest and healthiest wraps in town, at value prices, too.

The menu at Tortuga Food Bar includes delicious variations such as veal tagine, which is veal cooked with Moroccan spices, ginger and dried fruit and then accompanied with Basmati rice; tasty kebab, or juicy lamb and veal with smoked paprika, tomato and sauce with yoghurt and chili that's accompanied with cucumber, onion and parsley; and also spicy chicken curry, which is chicken fillet cooked in fruit juice, accompanied with curry mayo, maize and crisp bacon.

Must-tries are the mushroom patties, made with three different kinds of mushroom and cooked in wine, fresh aromatic herbs and Parmesan, with a bleu cheese sauce.
The pork pancetta is another great favorite, marinated in balsamico, soya, honey and ginger, accompanied with stir-fried vegetables, oyster mayo, cashew nuts, sesame seeds and fresh coriander. Worth tasting also is the fresh, homemade cheese: soft yoghurt balls with mint pesto, cooked vegetables, cherry tomatoes, fresh mint and balsamico.
The freshly prepared soups are another specialty, ideal for vegetarians, along with the freshly fried potatoes accompanied with dips and the homemade desserts.
Tortuga Food Bar also serves excellent quality coffee, fresh fruit and vegetable juices, various aromatic teas, red and white wine made from organically grown grapes, beers and its famous house cocktail. The delicious creamy lassi drink in two variations is ideal to accompany your meal.
The concept of Tortuga Food Bar is based on unique recipes made with local, organic ingredients and products from various places in Greece; veggie and vegan alternatives; cooking methods from different ethnic cuisines; and a modern approach that still maintains traditional taste.
All the food is slowly and properly prepared and cooked but served fast, with respect for customers, the environment and what nature can provide each season.
