Athens Offers a Wide Variety of Affordable Accommodations

Many hotels are located in the centre of Athens, Plaka, Syntagma, Monastiraki, offering easy transportation, picturesque surroundings and in most cases, views of the Acropolis. Staying in the historical centre of the city makes sightseeing so much simpler, as most ancient monuments are at a short distance which can be covered on foot. Restaurants, bars, cafes and shopping abound in this area, offering a chance to relax, enjoy a meal or discover some hidden treasure to take home. Moving around the city is easy with the metro, with stations at Syntagma, Monastiraki and Acropolis, or the many bus lines departing from these areas and reaching all over the city and outskirts. Visiting the historic sites and museums is also simple when you start off from the centre, as most are quite close. The historical centre is also a relatively quiet area, with limited traffic and safe to walk around.  Pan hotel on Mitropoleos street, Arethusa just opposite, Sweet Home just further down.   Arion is an  excellent place to stay in the center of the city.  Metropolis and Carolina in the shopping district are all time favorites with visitors to Athens.
