Hops beer and burgers on Drakou pedestrian street, close to the Acropolis Museum and the Fix metro station, is the ideal all day place to enjoy delicious burgers and other specialties. Start your meal with a healthy salad, such as the home made coleslaw or an interesting appetizer such as the metsovone cheese tart, but leave space for a satisfying burger with crisp freshly fried chips. Definitely try the buffalo cheeseburger, made with locally produced meat, the bacon patty with smoked bacon, the pancetta with Jack Daniels sauce. Vegetarians will enjoy the Portobello truffle with Portobello mushrooms and truffle mayo. Every week Hops presents a different burger, which is accompanied with the beer which better enhances its taste. Brunch is served daily until 14.00, with Greek and international dishes. Eggs, sandwiches and pancakes, excellent coffee and hot chocolate, make Hops a favorite destination for weekends. The beer list with more than forty labels, curated by the Beerbartenders team includes a large variety of local and international labels. An old building of the interwar period, houses Bock beer restaurant, which specializes in Northern-European food combined with good beer and drinks. The menu is mainly influenced by Southern German cuisine, but not only, and contains a wide variety of sausages, crispy knuckle of pork, sour cabbage and German ravioli with minced meat and spinach served in broth with chives, as well as the grilled German ham known as Leberkaese. The "Ossobuco" beef recipe with vegetable and white wine sauce is strongly recommended as well as the rump steak with caramelized onions. Five draft beers and a great variety of bottled beer will satisfy every customer's taste. You can also enjoy not only classic cocktails, but others based on beer as well.

Bonbon is a romantic, gourmet creperie on pedestrian Drakou street, full of surprises. Decorated in pink, white and nude tones, which create an attractive and welcoming environment. The cupcakes with liquid chocolate filling are very popular and also the delicious biscuits with sugar paste. An original item is the vases which contain all the ingredients and the recipe to make you own cake. The sweet and savory crepes are made with fresh, quality ingredients in a variety of mouth watering tastes. In the morning try the English breakfast, the spanish tortilla de papas, the tutti frutti and honey or the strudel. For lunch, the blue cheese and pears, the China or the Italian nord are excellent choices. The menu includes also dessert crepes, such as marron, porto bianco, crepes with home made marmalade, and many more variations. Accompany you choice with coffee, cool lemonade or a special cocktail, such as sailor moon, kinky lollipop, mrs yin or mr yang.

Aglio, olio e peperoncino, Porinou 13, near the Acropolis Museum, is a small, cosy trattoria which promises a unique culinary experience. Special attention is paid to the quality of all ingredients, and all plates are freshly prepared. The menu suggestions are from all over Italy and include specialties from the mediterranean cuisine. Servings are abundant and service excellent. Taste the authentic spaghetti aglio,olio e peperoncino, the linguini with pesto, , the succulent penne with vodka., spaghetti with sundried tomatoes, feta cheese and mavrodafni wine are some of the favorites. The wine selection includes very good Greek and Italian wine and the desserts are formidable: tiramisu, cheesecake, lemon mousse, apple pie and more.




Attikos Greek House opened in 1972 and is a family run business with a friendly atmosphere and excellent homemade food, very popular with Athenians and visitors. During the winter months customers enjoy their meal in a cozy space with a fireplace and a view of the garden, while during summer the terrace overlooking the Acropolis, the Observatory and Filopappou hill, is just perfect for a cool evening. All dishes are prepared daily, based on traditional recipes with special attention to quality. Some of the specialties are Corfu sofritto, lamb in lemon sauce, chicken pie, vegetable tart and orange pie for dessert.

Chocolat Royal is a rooftop bar, cafe, restaurant in Thissio, with a superb view of the Acropolis and Lycabettus hill. Ideal for a romantic dinner, a business meeting, or a friendly gathering, with excellent Greek cuisine, curated by Toque D'Or awarded chef Spyros Mallios. The interesting menu includes specialties such as stuffed Grevena mushrooms, smoked salmon mille-feuille, orzo pasta with prawns for appetizers, a variety of pasta and risotti, roasted veal, grilled chicken, burgers, honey roasted pork with sangria and rosemary for your main dish, healthy fresh salads with vegetables and salmon or chicken. Dont miss the mouth watering desserts, cheesecake with cheese cream fudge, chocolate souffle, mille feuille with orange cream just to mention a few. A selected wine list accompanies your meal and favorite cocktails put the ideal final touch to a perfect evening.




Mani Mani, close to the Acropolis Museum, is a restaurant inspired by the owners birthplace of Mani in the Peloponnese, from where many of the ingredients used to prepare the menu are obtained. Small farms and producers in the region provide homemade traditional Greek pasta and organic eggs from Gythio, syglino (a variation of bacon), sausages and poultry from Areopolis. The house wine is from Laconia, well known for the excellent cultivation of vineyards on arid ground close to the sea. Genuine olive oil produced by the owners of the restaurant in Gythio is used in the preparation of all plates, which include specialties like tsouchtes (goat cheese topped with a fried egg), Lentils with fresh oregano, sundried tomato, onion, cappers, siglino (smoked pork) and orange sauce, Lamb with greens, celeriac cream and sauce of its own broth, Rooster cooked in red wine with thyme, hilopites (Greek pasta) and sour mizithra cheese

Strofi restaurant has been a favorite since 1975 when it opened, and many visiting celebrities have dined on the ideally situated terrace with the magnificent view of the Acropolis, often after watching a performance at the famous Herodus Atticus theatre. The recently renewed and elegantly decorated locale, on three levels, is a very good choice to taste local specialties and excellent wines. The menu includes delicious dishes like octopus with oil and oregano, fried squid, tender goat with tomatoes and gruyere, risotto with seafood, Greek salad, and not to miss syrupy ekmek cake with vanilla ice cream, just to mention a few.

At the restaurant of the Acropolis Museum traditional Greek breakfast is served every day until noon (except Mondays). Enjoy home made marmalades, yoghurt with thyme honey, milk pie, fried eggs with smoked ham, and many more tasty dishes, such as Greek pancakes with grape molasses and tahini, three egg omelette with Cretan gruyere, olives from Kalamata with small rusks from the island of Tinos, just to mention a few. On the second floor the restaurant with a large verandah and a panoramic view of the Acropolis and other ancient monuments, serves a variety of warm dishes based on traditional recipes which are renewed according to the season. Some of the specialties to try are handmade trachanas (a variety of pasta) from the region of Epirus, with mushrooms, tomatoes and gruyere cheese from Ioannina, liver with red peppers from Florina and orange and for dessert rice and milk with cinnamon. The menu also includes a plate of the day prepared with recipes from various regions of Greece, like Cephalonian meat pie with fresh oregano, smoked ham from Mani, baked sardines from Serifos with garlic and rosemary. Special affordable menus for children include homemade pasta with fresh skinned tomatoes and cheese or hamburger with french fries. On Friday evenings the restaurant stays open until midnight, with a special regional menu, and all other days until the museum closing hours.
