10 Best Budget Hotels on the Big Island

What's great about budget hotels on the Big Island is that they generally don't feel like a budget hotel. They may be a bit smaller than the huge resorts, but most of the affordable places to stay on Kauai are oceanfront and loaded with the usual amenities and comforts you'd want at any hotel - swimming pools, spas, A/C, hot tubs, and privacy. Affordable hotels can be found all around the island, from the Puna Coast on the east side to the beach of Kailua-Kona

Our local expert's favorite budget hotel on the Big Island is the Hilo Seaside Hotel. This is the most modest of the budget hotels on the list, but it's located on the ocean and offers simple and clean rooms at the lowest price on the island. Not far away is Uncle Billy's Hilo Bay Hotel. This modest hotel is also ocean side and offers a pool and beautiful bay and volcano views.

Out on the northern Hamakua Coast, the Palms Cliff House Inn offers a private home nestled in nature. Guests will feel at home here in the upscale yet affordable homey environment, with privacy and jungle magic.

Utilize Kauai's budget hotel so you can save your money for things to enjoy outside of the hotel room.
