As one of Honolulu's top spots for Japanese food and sushi, Yanagi is open until 2 am every night except for Sunday when it closes at 10 pm. Yanagi is usually crowded each night for dinner, so reservations are always suggested. The sushi is outstanding, and other Japanese dishes like shabu shabu, tempura and teriyaki round out the satisfying menu. A wonderful selection of sake, as well as a full bar, can also be found here.

Because it's a favorite place for celebrities, the walls are covered with photos of celebrities from Michael Jackson to Mike Tyson pictured with the Yanagi staff. A huge fish tank displays what's for dinner, and the expansive menu offers a huge selection.

Yanagi is about as traditional as it gets in Honolulu, from the decor to the layout to the staff. It's a can't-miss restaurant for any Japanese-food lovers visiting Honolulu and is a favorite for locals. The parking lot definitely doesn't meet the demand for Yanagi, so you may have to look for street parking.
The restaurant is great for enjoying a full meal at dinner, but it's also ideal for a few late-night drinks. As one of the only mellow places open until 2 am, it's a fantastic option for a super late-night meal or cocktail.
