Watching Iron Chef America can make a viewer hungry, and envious that he or she can't indulge in an Iron Chef quality meal. In Honolulu, now you can. And if you're a fan of home style Japanese food and top quality sushi too, you can kill two birds with one stone, by dropping into Morimoto Waikiki for delicious food from Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto's new restaurants. Located inside of the sophisticated Modern Honolulu hotel, the eatery is very worth a trip over even if you're not staying in the hotel.
The modern and stylish restaurant offers a contemporary Japanese menu, of course infusing traditional dishes with Western ingredients. Diners can find breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the eatery all made with local produce and fresh seafood from Hawaiian and Japanese waters. Says Morimoto, “The quality of my ingredients is the highest expression of my skill and judgment as a chef,” and he shares this vision with every guest.

Diners will be treated with views into an open kitchen and an endless array of sushi. Semi-private dining rooms offer modest seclusion thanks to sheer curtains that enhance the intimacy of any meal. Waterfront dining on the open air lanai (porch), an intimate foyer lounge, deep couches to relax on and intimate cocktail tables to socialize at or enjoying open fire pits are all options when dining at this classy Waikiki eatery.
Morimoto's resume along is enough to prove that the food will be great. He trained in a sushi restaurant before moving to the U.S. in 1985 at 30 years old and joined the well-known Nobu restaurant in New York City. After great Iron Chef success, Morimoto is executive chef at Morimoto Philadelphia, Morimoto New York, Wasabi by Morimoto, Morimoto Sushi Bar, Morimoto Napa and has now brought his genius menu to Waikiki.
