The North Shore of Kauai and the surrounding area of Princeville are known for majestic green cliffs, ever-changing waterfalls and world-class surf. Yet tucked away amidst all of the natural beauty is enough shopping to provide retail therapy to any happy shopper. It should come as no surprise that the luxurious St. Regis Princeville Resort holds some true retail treasures and offers guests an array of high-end options.
Princeville - including its condos, resort and shopping areas - brings a taste of modernity to a part of the island that appears stuck in time. But while you're here, explore the shops to get a feel for the most popular styles and trends in this Kauai region. Elegant aloha wear at Tori Richard — Photo courtesy of Tori Richard
Inside of the St. Regis Princeville Resort lies Hawaiian traditions such as Tori Richard. A long-standing staple in Hawaii's fashion world, Tori Richard is a resort lifestyle company founded in 1956. Offering high-end resort wear, the stylish cuts are made with not only aloha print, but other unique and eye-catching prints. Tori Richards provides clothing for both men and women.
Nearby at the Aaron Feinberg Gallery, the award-winning, Kauai-based photographer displays fine art landscape photography that has found acclaim worldwide. The St. Regis Princeville Gallery is the third gallery he has opened on Kauai. Feinberg's passion for nature and understanding of light and composition allow him to capture photographs that reveal nature's true beauty and drama.
Every girl likes jewelery. Also inside the Resort is Vanbalen Fine Jewelry. Valerie Van Balen, a well-known Kauai jeweler, opened her fourth store in the newly renovated retail corridor off the main lobby. Featuring a luxury line of Tahitian South Sea Pearls, semi-precious stones and diamonds, this will be the first of her Hawaii stores to open under this name.
While most sundry stores usually carry all those things you might have forgotten to pack (such as toothpaste, deodorant and shaving cream), Accent Store goes beyond that with high-end resort wear for men and women and health, wellness and beauty care products. Many of them created by local designers, artisans and small family producers.
They also feature organic foods, jewelry, handbags, beach and pool toys for children, specialty gifts (such as Hawaiian chocolates), wonderful Hawaiian honey and jams, local gourmet items, books and magazines. The store carries a huge amount of inventory – basically anything you need to make your vacation even better.
