A true hole in the wall with an unexpected culinary treasure, Pomodoro Ristorante is nestled in an unassuming cluster of businesses in the countryside town of Kalaheo on Kaua`i’s south side. Run by real Italians, the mom-and-pop eatery is an island delight, not just for the south side.

Just a short drive from Koloa, you’ll find a full bar here, and one true highlight is the ravioli, although most of the dishes are nothing short of amazing. The husband and wife owners are very friendly and offer that small town comfort of chatting with all customers and knowing their regulars. Although the venue is rather small and quiet, the owners make it very well-known that children are welcome, so it's perfect for family time and romantic enough for date night.
Pomodoro is on the second floor of a small shopping center on the ocean (makai) side of the main road running through Kalaheo. The atmosphere is mellow and usually backed by Italian music and dim lighting. Since it doesn't take very long to get around Kaua`i, Pomodoro is worth the trip, even if you’re staying on another part of the island. Whether it’s for family time or a dinner date, Pomodoro is not to be missed.
