In the 1950s, South Pacific was filmed on Kaua‘i (along with many others before and after it), and paying homage to it is South Pacific Dinner and Theater at the Kauai Beach Resort. Based on the original Broadway show, the production has been brought to Kaua‘i by the Hawaii Association of Performing Arts and producer Alain Dussaud. In its eighth year of production, the show tells the love story set on the island during World War II. An all-you-can-eat buffet is included with the show and offers salad, pasta salad, teriyaki chicken, vegetables, desserts, coffee, and more. Tickets include the show, a buffet dinner, gratuity, and parking.
A no-host cash bar is offered. If you’re not in the mood for a buffet dinner, the show is centrally located on the east side where the majority of the islands restaurants are located, so you’ll have a pick of places to eat before show time. This is the only Broadway-esque entertainment on the island; it makes for a fun night, and it's perfect for a date or the whole family.
