Everyone loves chocolate, right? So can anything be better than Kaua'i made chocolate? Chocolate lovers are in luck here with a tour at the Steelgrass Chocolate Farm, one of the most educational attractions on Kaua'i. The locally owned and operated farm offers a tour entitled “Chocolate from Branch to Bar.” The eight-acre farm specializes in vanilla, bamboo, and cacao, the chocolate tree. The tour reveals to visitors everything about growing and harvesting cacao fruit and turning it into chocolate.

Smelling and tasting chocolate is part of the three-hour tour, where you explore the gardens and the orchard and enjoy an 11-course chocolate tasting. Exploring a chocolate farm in Hawaii is an experience unique from what the rest of the United States has to offer, as Hawaii is the only state in the United States of America with an environment hospitable to cacao, and farms with the chocolate tree are now popping up throughout the islands. The tour provides pretty much everything a visitor needs, but wear good walking shoes. It is a good idea to book your tour in advance rather than last minute, as they get booked fast and are only offered three days a week.
