Best Family-Friendly Hotels in Hong Kong: Where to Stay with Kids

Hong Kong's family-friendly hotels are spread out around the city. The best come with a harbor view, or a pool, or both. Some hotels run specific programs for kids, keeping them entertained or organizing classes that are as fun as they are educational.

Try the Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong or the Cosmopolitan Hotel with its Family Quad rooms. As you drink in the skyline and the city's sights and sounds, let the whole family create and share the memories from your visit to Hong Kong. Family friendly hotels can help remove some of the stress of a group trip so you can focus on time with your loved ones. Some hotels will not charge for very young children, or will put an extra bed in your room for a small charge – both worth remembering if you're traveling on a budget.

Wherever you choose to stay, keep location in mind, to cut down on long journeys around the city, although Hong Kong's public transportation system is very easy to navigate. And don't forget to get out onto the streets and experience Hong Kong life in the raw – kids will love riding the trams, making their way through traditional markets, and experiencing the sights and sounds of the city.

Kerry Hotel

There's one word that really sums up the Kerry Hotel, and that is "original". It's right on the waterfront, with an infinity pool that looks across to Hong Kong Island and down the eastern side of the harbor. The architects realized the value of the views so each room has a magnificent floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall window that beats the television for multi-channel entertainment. Dining at the Kerry is amazing too, with a vast East-meets-West buffet at breakfast, and fun spaces like Dockyard (a gourmet food hall). The hotel is right above the Tsim Sha Tsui promenade, while a ferry shuttles across the water to North Point all day long. Design, location and ambiance are all just perfect.

Recommended for Family-Friendly Hotels because: The Kerry is a classic urban resort with really stunning harbor views.

Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel

There are no real surprises at the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel: decor, background music, and ambiance are all relentlessly Disney, and joyfully so. There are some 400 rooms, all with balconies and a free minibar. This is probably Hong Kong's happiest hotel (although Disney's Hollywood Hotel, just down the road, is a close rival) and the reasons for booking in here are obvious. The restaurants and cafes are very much child oriented, and when you're not at the Disney resort, there's a pool, tennis and a maze shaped like Mickey Mouse. As a point of interest, not a few Hong Kong couples choose to get married here.

Recommended for Family-Friendly Hotels because: It's right on the doorstep of the Disney resort –" check out the hotel + admission packages.
