Typically, the RiverWalk is not as busy in winter for obvious weather related reasons, but it's worth a bundled-up stop as Art on theMart adds winter holiday imagery to the inaugural program of the largest permanent digital art projection on the planet. Seasonal images project across the 2.5 acre river-faade of theMART intermittently throughout the two-hour program. The seasonally-themed projections will be seen as moments throughout the program, which runs through Monday, Dec. 31, culminating in a special New Years Eve viewing. Unlike practically all other cold weather attractions - this one is free. And, the media architecture attraction is completely dedicated to art projection without branding, advertising or consumer messaging.
- Things to Do in December: "The best places to view are Upper Wacker Drive between N. Wells St. and N. Franklin St. and The Jetty and Confluence areas on The Chicago Riverwalk between Wells and Lake St."
- Best for Things to Do in December Because: The media architecture attraction featuring brilliant digital works of art is completely dedicated to art so our brains aren't subjected to branding or advertising messaging.
