Dankmar Adler and Louis Sullivan are the architects responsible for the construction of this building, once the city's heaviest and tallest structure. Since its erection in 1889, it has served as an office building, a hotel, and a USO center during World War II. An extensive renovation in 1967 refurbished the original 4000-seat auditorium. Today, thousands are entertained by the many Broadway acts that cross the stage.
