The Moonlighter should be the model for a neighborhood sports bar - not riotous like one might find in Wrigleyville, but spirited enough to make it fun. When in Logan Square, stop in for a burger locals rave about, an extensive craft beer list including local brews and sours, sturdy cocktails and a cheerful, friendly atmosphere. Watch games on any of 10 TVs or two projectors while enjoying a notable cheeseburger, wings, tacos, a good array of salads (the roasted corn salad is delightful) and dessert that travels just a few blocks from Chicago's renowned Roeser's Bakery (since 1911). Choose Chocolate Caramel Turtle Cake or Carrot Cake. Vegan offerings include vegan tacos, wings, vegan barbecue cheeseburger and others. Order a pitcher of chilled cocktails, punch or sangria, too. The bar's frozen piña colada has become one of the most popular drinks especially in summer. The dog friendly outdoor patio attracts packs of humans and their pals spring through fall. There are fireplaces, indoors and out, so come for Bears games. The Moonlighter takes reservations, but there are some tables set aside for walk-ins, as well as a 14-seat bar that is first-come first-served.
- Sports Bars: "Check Facebook or the website for specials like Taco Tuesday when tacos can go a buck, vegan tacos for $2, Margaritas for $8, tequila shots for $4."
- Best for Sports Bars Because: Comfortable, friendly The Monnlighter excels in the burger and beer departments and adds a dog-friendly patio and just enough TVs for a sports' fans perfect outing.
