This winding, North Shore outdoor mall and movie theater is about a 30 minute drive north of Chicago. It features stores like L.L. Bean, Barnes & Noble, Victoria's Secret and Banana Republic, as well as upscale stores like Rolex, Henri Bendel, Nordstrom and Michael Kors. Even Tesla Motors has a presence for those who want to learn more about its electric cars. The center of the mall has a popular outdoor play area of cushioned rolling hills and climbing areas for little kids. New additions to the mall include Kate Spade New York, the West Elm furniture store, and the buzzed-about burger and milkshake restaurant, Shake Shack. A classic Chicago restaurant, The Bagel, is here, serving Jewish deli foods. Or try the something-for-everyone fresh market, Wilde & Greene. The mall gets very crowded on weekends, so prepare to park far away.
