Siopaella (pronounced shuppa-ella and translated from the Irish for Ella’s Shop) in Temple Bar is a swap shop/vintage store that has an ever-changing selection of brand new and gently-used designer goods. Items that are given into the shop will give the owner a 40% price return upon sale provided the item sells within 60 days and is of excellent designer and contemporary brand quality. As a result of this policy the shop has garnered a lot of press and celebrity attention, with Florence Welch of Florence and The Machine stopping in during her recent tour to purchase a dress and Jade Castrinos from Edward Sharp and the Magnetic Zeros nabbing a dress that she later wore on stage.

The Siopaella stock is very carefully curated and the quality and relevancy of the garments are meticulously checked over, a quick perusal of the online store will give you an idea of the brands and styles favoured by Siopa Ella’s stylists. While other vintage shops in the city often opt for quantity over quality, Siopa Ella has very strict guidelines for the products they accept and sell and it appears to be a system that works. For those that get hooked on the great fashion don’t fret: Siopaella ships worldwide and orders over €100 ship for free.
