777 only opened its doors at the beginning of this year but has quickly become one of the hottest spots to eat in Dublin. The outside is surprisingly unassuming with only a small street sign to hint that behind it’s frosted glass exterior there is a thriving Mexican restaurant that boasts some of the tastiest and most exciting food in Dublin coupled with excellent cocktails and an extensive tequila selection. The restaurant itself is sleek with white tiled walls and hundreds of bottles of tequila lining the walls, a walk to the vintage bathroom lets you peek in at the chefs hard at work creating your spicy delights and bar seating lets you watch on as the cocktails are shaken.

The menu includes a series of smaller dishes that means you can mix and match to create a full meal or some larger dishes to chow down on. The taquitos and tostados are filled with a succulent range of stewed and marinated meat and chicken or fresh sashimi and crab in a variety of mouth-watering permutations. Meanwhile the super tender pork belly or short rib mains are not to be missed. The cocktails, while expensive, are some of the best in Dublin and the perfect accompaniment to the food. However if you want to avoid the busy evening services it might be better to opt for their weekend brunch, which has a similarly delicious menu in a more relaxed atmosphere. Taquito Tuesday and Margarita Monday also offer a more economical way of enjoying these tasty delights.
