Carlo Marcacci founded this store in 1924 to cater to the British community that relocated to Florence. It was a one stop shop for all things British. Old England Stores have kept intact over time with its furnishings and its English style within. The back access you can still access the old stables of the Palazzo Medici Rosselli del Turco, it is now a storage facility. During World War II, the store was changed to OSAI, because it was forbidden to have foreign words on shops. Now, it is run by Antonio Marcacci (3rd generation of the Marcacci family) which still offers a wide range of Anglo-Saxon products such as tea, coffe, chocolate, spices, sauces, whiskey. There are also an assortment of clothing that is pure English style. Today the shop hosts clients from throughout Italy and has become a meeting point of the Florentine nobility.
