Close to the Pantheon and across from an ancient Roman temple, La Caffettiera is the northern branch of a famous Neapolitan bar empire. The long marble bar at the entrance is always packed with politicians and their assistants. Try perfectly executed southern specialties such as rum babà, sfogliatella (shell-shaped ricotta pastry) or a piece of real pastiera napoletana (made from wheat and ricotta cheese, flavored with orange blossom water). La Caffettiera is perfect for breakfast or for a light lunch. Closed on Sundays in August and first two weeks of September. Bus: Via del Corso.
