If you're looking for a little taste of Tuscany, you don't necessarily have to make a trip up to wine country. Terravision's Terracafé, located in Rome's Termini train station, now offers locals and visitors a new kind of aperitivo (happy hour) featuring food produced from the region.
The happy hour is appropriately called Terra Tuscan Thursday, and it takes place every Thursday from 5pm onwards at the Terracafé (the café is owned by popular bus company, Terravision.) Unlike some other aperitivos that often serve food that is pre-packaged or out of a can, Terracafé features fresh organic products such as cold cuts, salame, pecorino cheese, wild boar sauce, and even organic wine in the buffet spread. What makes the aperitivo buffet so special is that all of the organic products come from the company's farm, La Tenuta Agricola dell’Uccellina, and a few other local farmers from the region.
The new Tuscan happy hour is also taking other cities by storm where Terravision has a Terracafé: Florence, London and soon in Manchester as well. The Tuscan Thursday happy hour will set you back about €6. Then, if you decide you want to take a little bit of Tuscany home with you, make sure to visit the café's Tuscan Corner where you can find these products–along with organic honey, wine and cold cuts–for sale.
