There aren't many restaurants around Rome that cater to the vegetarian or vegan diner. Let alone aperitivo buffets or spreads that offer everything veggie-based. However, one aperitivo/dinner buffet that's going strong and popular with the locals is at the Beehive Hotel and Cafè near Termini train station.

This trendy little budget, eco-conscious hotel was founded by an American couple in 1999 in search of the dolce vita in Rome. Passionate about the environment and social issues, Linda and Steve (the owners) decided to incorporate a friendly vegetarian café into their hotel, offering travelers an alternative and green way of eating. On Wednesdays and Saturdays, the Beehive Hotel & Café serves up a fantastic aperitivo buffet open to everyone, not just guests that stay at their hotel. The hotel uses Zeitgusto -A Movable Vegan Restaurant, that believes in the slow and sustainable food movement and an innovative vegan way of cooking.
