There is tiramisù, and then there is tiramisù. In Rome, everyone knows there is only one true king of tiramisù: Bar Pompi. For years, Romans would travel halfway across the city to the San Giovanni district to indulge in Pompi's famous tiramisù. Now, with the new opening near Piazza di Spagna, Romans have decadence at their fingertips.

For more than 50 years, Bar Pompi has been serving up the tastiest tiramisù you'll have ever tasted from its shop at Piazza Re di Roma in the San Giovanni District. Aside from the traditional flavored tiramisù, Bar Pompi also makes variations of tiramisù with flavors such as: strawberry, pistachio, raspberry, nutella, banana and chocolate.

Bar Pompi is also famous for "L'aperi-time." As many bars and cafès now do, Pompi also does their very own version of aperitivo (or Happy Hour) with finger foods, desserts and what else? Their famous tiramisù! "L'aperi-time" takes place Tuesday through Saturday from 6:30 pm until 8:30 pm.

Bar Pompi's newest venture opened up in December 2011 on the famous Via della Croce, just around the corner from Piazza di Spagna. To inaugurate the store on opening day, the owners passed out more than 200 slices of free tiramisù to people willing to make the line and curious to try their delicious trademark dessert.
