Luxury days out in Rome don't get much better than feasting and cocktailing poolside at the 5 star Rome Cavalieri. The enormous pool sits withing a lush green oasis garden and the sounds and chaos of the eternal city seem a world away. Even if you're not a hotel guest, you can pay for a pool day complete with towel, sun bed and that friendly and efficient Cavalieri service (95 euro weekends / 80 weekdays). The Pool Bar and Chalet is open for all day dining until sun down and set across two spaces. The bar area is right by the pool and offers shaded seating and then a few steps away is the green tranquility of the Chalet. Sit shaded in comfort with a view of the property gardens. Roman chef Fabio Boschero oversees the menu here and adds some international flair from his various travels to the seasonal Mediterranean menu. All the hotel poolside classics like burgers (a gourmet one with kamut bread and guacamole) and the club sandwich are up for grabs, together with some more gourmet dishes like tuna sashimi with wasabi cream and burrata; sesame crusted tuna tataki with black rice and a twist on 'spaghetti alle vongole', served with kamut linguini. There is a barbecue if grill is more your style plus a full list of local beers and wines and cocktails too, including fresh fruit mixes for those who want to stay off alcohol. Oh and if leaving that sunbed seems way too hard, no problem! Press your service button and a staff member will promptly arrive with a full menu so that you can eat or drink by the pool.
