Commissioned by Mussolini and built between 1928 and 1938, Foro Italico (once known as Foro Mussolini) is a massive sports complex in Rome. An outstanding example of Italian Fascist architecture, the complex houses the largest sports venue in Rome in addition to several other sports facilities such as an aquatics center, tennis center and a home for the Italian National Olympic Committee. Site of the 1960 Summer Olympics, the complex now plays host to all sorts of events like football games, tennis matches and music concerts.
