While not a large city, Civitavecchia certainly packs a good punch on the shopping front. Whether arriving into town from the port or the station, you will literally just stumble across Via Garibaldi which is along the lungomare (sea promenade) and features quite a few shops among the many bars and restaurants. Lying just off Via Garibaldi is the main shopping strip, Corso Centocelle which is a very short distance from the port (and not too far from the train station). It's made up of lots of prettily painted buildings and is a completely pedestrian zone. Located throughout the center of town you have supermarkets and a pharmacy for any medical needs, and then just a 25 minute walk from the port is a shopping center, La Scaglia, with almost 30 specialty shops. If you have time to dedicate to a full shopping day, various tour companies offer shuttle services to the Castel Romano premium outlets with coaches prepared for departure as soon as many cruise ships dock at the port. So whether it's a little or even a lot of shopping, some pre-cruise purchases like resort or formal wear, a book or swimwear, you're bound to find to what you need in Civitavecchia.
