The Mausoleum of Santa Costanza is one of the few round churches in Rome. It dates back to the 4th century located in the Trieste-Nomentana area of Rome. It was built under the rein of Constantine I as a mausoleum for his daughter Costantina who died in 354 AD. The exterior of the church, which is a prime example of early Christian art and architecture remains is in good condition despite several poorly carried out restoration projects over the years. It was built next to the Basilica of Sant'Agnese also in the 4th century. Aside from the beauty of both churches, many tourists flock to the Mausoleum to witness the catacombs of Sant'Agnese which are located directly beneath both churches. BUS: 90. METRO: Sant'Agnese/Annibaliano.
