The Audubon Zoo in New Orleans is doing whatever it can to remain the top destination for visiting and local families. Towards the end of the summer, they announced they will begin hosting outdoor movie-screening events in a series they've titled "Dinner and a Zoovie."

For $5 per person, guests are admitted into the screening, which will be shown on a large inflatable screen. Titles currently in the running for screening are Zookeeper, Back to the Future and The Hunger Games. Movies begin around 7:30 pm, but movie-goers will be allowed in at 6 p.m. to enjoy a pre-movie DJ and food from the New Orleans Food Truck Coalition.
Guests can bring blankets and chairs, and even their own food if they choose not to indulge in the food truck offerings (just no glass, candles or pets, please). Animal exhibits will be closed during this period, so make sure you and the kids get your lion/tiger/bear fix out of the way before movie time. Children under two can enter the event for free.
Upcoming showings will be on Nov. 29 and Dec. 27, 2013. Audubon Zoo allows guests to vote for which movie they would like to see on their Facebook page, so check it out and make your vote count.
