Barcadia was a natural fit for a city like New Orleans, where people like to eat, drink and play as much or more than others. The sprawling restaurant/bar/arcade space on Tchoupitoulas is now a major hot spot for people coming off work, vacationing, or looking for a great time.
Let's start with the food - Barcadia serves more than just traditional bar food. Their burgers, wraps and salads are top notch. Feel free to consume these inside at the bar or a table, or outside if it's cool out. If you are looking for strictly bar food, it is advisable to try the fried PB&J.
When in New Orleans, you pair food with drinks - or sometimes you scrap the food and solely drink. Barcadia has over 20 beers on tap, including local offerings from Abita and NOLA among others. They frequently feature special high ABV bottles if you are looking for something rare. If you're looking to drink on the cheap, $3.00 PBR, Schlitz and Rolling Rock cans are available.
And finally, we'll mention the games. Barcadia has life-sized Jenga, a 5' tall Connect Four and an entire wall of 80's arcade games like Tron, Pac-man, Frogger and Dig-Dug. Come in on Tuesday nights to enjoy freeplay on most games.
Barcadia is a must visit due to their triple threat of great food, great drinks and great times. Check their website for the daily specials. The highlights include free play Tuesdays and $3 Jameson on Wednesdays.
