The atmosphere is simple but elegant at Jonathan’s, with an eclectic menu showcasing a fine selection of original recipes. Wherever possible, local ingredients are used, such as the lamb raised at Jonathan’s Farm in nearby South Berwick. Menu favorites include Maine seafood pasta with clams, shrimp, and lobster cooked in a choice chardonnay sauce; Jaeger schnitzel featuring breaded pork tenderloin pan fried with lemon and mushrooms; and a 16 ounce Rib Eye Steak grilled to perfection.

Equally tantalizing is the always impressive night club-style schedule hosted by Jonathan’s. The setting is always intimate with patrons and stage personalities connecting for first-rate evenings of entertainment. Headline acts include blues great Johnny Winter, comedian Paula Poundstone, guitar legends J. Geils of the J. Geils Band as well as Ronnie Earl and the Broadcasters, and folk leading lights Jonathan Edwards and Janis Ian. Many of these performers are regulars who return time and again to Jonathan’s for its outstanding audience and entertainer-friendly environment.
