Speaking of which, L.L. Bean continues to exceed expectations in terms of quality and durability. For example, make your way through just about any thrift shop in Maine and you’re likely to find L.L. Bean merchandise that is still in tip top shape. And, in case you have a hankering to go shopping in the wee hours of the morning, the main Freeport store is open 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.
Bean (as the locals know it) is currently celebrating its 100th anniversary and is marking their centennial year with a full schedule of special events, both at its Falmouth location and beyond. It has stepped up offerings at its Outdoor Discovery Schools which provide newcomers with day trips, featuring lessons and equipment, where they can test out such pursuits as cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and kayaking.

The eye-catching L.L. Bean Boot Mobile is being featured at many Maine festivals and special events throughout the year. Finally, in July, L.L. Bean will host a gala Hometown Festival. It is sure to be a fun packed schedule of activities as L.L. Bean celebrates a century of retailing in its beautiful state of Maine.
