Fair Trade is an international movement in which coffee growers are paid sufficiently for their products, enough to maintain a decent standard of living. It’s well worth the few extra cents you pay for a cup – the coffee is fresh and more robust than standard java. The same holds true at Others! which features a wide range of international blends – from Brazillian to Sumatran and Peruvian coffees.

What’s more, they roast the beans right in the store. This means every time you walk into this establishment, you are greeted with a heady, brewing aroma.

With its recent addition of baked goods and gelato, this downtown Portland mainstay is even more appealing. The pastries are truly scrumptious, made with fresh ingredients and rich textures. Their lemon bars, in particular, are a big hit during the warmer months. Similarly, their new gelatos are smooth and creamy with creative flavors such as Berries Gone Wild (another summer hit).
If a cup of truly satisfying coffee is your quest, Others! is definitely worth trying.
