For more than 50 years, the Kittery Art Association (KAA) has been a prime destination for viewing the expansive artistic talent that thrives on Portland's south shore. Most recently, KAA has expanded their artistic offerings to include community concerts – adding an important, new component to nightlife along the Maine coast. Located in Kittery's scenic downtown district (which is also a gateway to the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard shared with nearby Portsmouth, New Hampshire), the Kittery Art Association (KAA) serves as a repository for diverse works by seacoast artists. In addition to live music, KAA frequently conducts exhibit shows (most free of charge) featuring paintings, sketches, sculptures, photography, textile and pottery created by amateur and professional artists living in the region. Space is also made available for artists to practice their craft. At the same time, classes are offered for children and adults seeking to explore their inner artistic muse. For those seeking the heart of art along Maine's southern shore, the Kittery Arts Association has much to offer both visually and musically.
