The tours last about two hours, visit three or four small pubs withing walking distance to each other and are operated year round. Two out of three of them are themed. For the George Washington enthusiast, there's the Hidden History Tour which visits bars once frequented by America's founding fathers, sailor, merchants and anyone arriving to Annapolis's shores. The tour sheds light on why there are hidden secret tunnels running under the city.
For those sports looking to possibly make some non-living acquaintances and be scared sober, there's the Haunted Pub Crawl. This tour takes guests inside a few of the city's most notorious establishments for spirit activity. If looking for drunken ghosts weren't enough, the tour even makes a stop at a graveyard. Go figure.
Rain or shine, the tours leave from the historic Maryland Inn, right in the city's center, setting the tone for the evening with its early colonial dark brick structure. Perhaps many a sailor or statesman's crawl began and ended there. If you're looking to duplicate the tavern-hopping experience, they'll be happy to accommodate you.
