A walk down South Boston's (Southie to locals) main street, Broadway, has you facing a mix of chic boutiques and old school original Southie shops. These hot spots, often Irish themed are part of the real Southie culture that was around long before the yuppies found this waterfront wonderland.
Calnan's Hallmark and Jeweler's is a true Southie treasure. Family owned and operated, service here is nothing short of spectacular. In fact, Calnan's is quoted as saying, ""If we don't have it we'll order it" or ,.."If we can't fix it no one can", and it is true. They will go above and beyond to please their customers just as they have since opening their doors in 1950.
A classic gift shop, Calnan's is packed with treasures, but oddly enough you'll also find an exquisite selection of fine jewelry as well. Locals swear that this is one of the better jewelers in all of Boston and those who shop here for that special piece always return for something more when needed.
But the best, and most unique part of shopping at Calnan's is its stock of all things Irish (clothes, Claddagh's, and gifts) this is the place to find that Irish knit you've been longing for without having to make a trip to the Emerald Isle.
