I learned about Barefoot Books in Concord when a friend suggested it as a halfway point for a play date, and when I did I found one of the best places to shop and entertain children in the Boston area. You see, I LOVE books! Always have, always will, and when I became a mom I knew I wanted to teach my son to be as passionate about literature as I am. Barefoot Books has helped make that dream a reality.
More than a bookstore, Barefoot Books offers families with children a daily array of performers, classes, pottery/clay painting, storytelling, and workshops. Some require pre-registration, but most are walk-in welcome. Plus, Barefoot Books provides families with interactive, fun content that celebrates the arts and literacy in an engaging way (act it out story time, for example.)

When you enter the Barefoot Books Studio in Concord, you'll find books that come alive. The vibrant colors and beautiful illustrations depicted in the books they sell entice children to engage.
Plus, the wide selection of unique family programs, like their story and a craft (my son's favorite), give kids a chance to preview some of the stories for sale. And the dazzling array of colorful, fun books sold here are a literary feast for children, as well as the adults who love them. Offering a tremendous variety of events, a small playroom stocked with toys and (of course) more books, and a large activity room makes Barefoot Books a place to return to over and over again.
