Since January 23, 2012, the gorgeous grounds of the deCordova Museum have been home to The 2012 deCordova Biennial. Running through April 22, The 2012 deCordova Biennial is comprised of artists from New England, and is a survey exhibition. Instead of an overarching theme, it has an emphasis on the quality and variety of the showcased work. The exhibition displays a diverse range of approaches to media and content.
Events take place on and off-site. On-site events include tours led by museum curators, Abigail Ross Goodman or Dina Deitsch, that will allow those taking the tour to gain insight into the curator's perspective on the art. Artist discussions and interactive performances are also events linked to the Biennial, and many will be held at the deCordova Museum.
Special family programs are scheduled to encourage art education in today's youth. These include a monthly drop-in called "Eye Wonder" where the focus is on looking at works of art by Biennial artists and examining each with a careful eye.
With so many options to explore at the deCordova Biennial, there is sure to be something that will please us all. Don't miss this amazing event!Skirts and Pants (after Duchamp) — Photo courtesy of deCordova Museum
