Elegant since its inception in 1912, Boston's Fairmont Copley Plaza
is undergoing a 20 million dollar renovation and restoration that will retain the elegance of this lavish spot, while bringing it a much needed hint at modernity. Three hundred plus guest rooms will be revamped, and event spaces will be spiffied up to make meeting and special occasions even more memorable. A 3,00 square foot rooftop health club is being added to entice guests to exercise while enjoying the killer views. The restaurant and bar have been closed and is being replaced by someplace so secret beyond a name, The Long Bar Oak Kitchen, all of my begging for details got me nothing but a promise of news when they decide to share with the press.
The one hundred year celebration will continue throughout 2012, with specials like rate decreases to the year of their marriage for those celebrating an anniversary, and their Celebration of a Century Package that offer a decent discount on stays in their spruced up digs.
With so much change under one roof, you may wonder if all the pieces will fall into place; knowing the Fairmont Copley Plaza and their commitment to excellence, I am more than certain that the Fairmont will be ready to shine even brighter for their next one hundred year stretch.
