The Melt — Photo courtesy of WahlburgersWhen you stop by Wahlburgers, you may bump into Paul Wahlberg, co-owner, chef and creative genius of this Hingham Shipyard burger joint that serves up more than the run-of-the-mill hunk of meat on a bun. If you do, you'll first be astounded by his close resemblance to brother, Mark, then instantly be taken by his tell-it-like-it-is personality, witty humor, Dorchester pride and thick Boston accent. Paul is more than the brother of famous siblings, Mark and Donnie Wahlberg, he is a talented chef and hands-on owner who has created a burger joint that is destined for greatness.
Wahlburgers has hit on a missing segment of the burger market; pushing burgers to new limits, serving more than just beef between buns, adding touches missing from most spots- like alcohol (grown-up frappes that will leave you floating and a beer selection you'd find in some of Boston's best bars), capitalizing on their famous name, and soliciting fans to take part in shaping their ever-changing menu; you can't find another spot quite like it.

Although you'll be hard-pressed to bump into former New Kid on the Block, Donnie, or Hollywood hunk, Mark, they're stamp is on the menu as they weigh in on their favorites. Mark's favorite, the Thanksgiving Burger, is a moist turkey burger topped with Thanksgiving's best trimmings and served up on a freshly baked roll, and Donnie loves the BBQ Bacon Burger: beef or turkey topped with cheddar, bacon, avocado, fresh jalapenos & BBQ sauce.
Wahlburgers' blow-your-mind monthly specialty burger (send in your recipe; you may just find it on their menu) even got burger queen, Food Network star, and talk show host, Rachael Ray, involved. Her creation, the meatball patty melt, was a big hit on the Wahlburgers menu.
The difficulty of choosing from their salmon, meat, chicken and turkey creations gets even harder when you glance at the salads that use fresh, seasonal ingredients and are equally as delectable as the burgers. If you can't make up your mind, share and really get a taste of all that Wahlburgers has to offer.Paul Wahlberg — Photo courtesy of Wahlburgers
