Boston Wine Festival — Photo courtesy of Boston Wine FestivalBoston's 23rd Annual Wine Festival offers a full three months of exciting events. The brain child of Boston Harbor Hotel Chef, Daniel Bruce (of Mertiage and Sea Grille fame), Boston's Wine Festival has evolved into a world renowned event spanning the winter season, and featuring winemakers from some of the best wineries around the world. The grand opening gala will be held on Friday, January 6 and will be followed by several events each week throughout the winter months, ending on March 30th.
Inspired by wines, Bruce has created some award winning dishes. These dishes are meant to compliment the wines featured during the festival, some of which make their way onto the menu of one of the Hotel's award winning restaurants.
With evenings altering from vineyard specific to regional samplings, The Boston Wine Festival has a variety of exciting evenings scheduled that are sure to provide enjoyment for wine lovers. These include restaurant wine paring nights, such as Meritage Madness, where Bordeaux-style wines from Sonoma and Napa Valley will be sampled, a panel of wine professionals will comment, and Meritage's famous food will be served. And Vineyard theme nights that will focus on a particular vineyards specials. Opus One is one such vineyard participating (in February) for a lavish dinner paired with Opus One wines, and attended by winemakers Michael Silacci and France Posener.
