Cabo San Lucas may have a reputation as a playground for adults, but the area offers plenty of opportunities for family-flavored fun. From tot-friendly dolphin encounters and submarine journeys to teenage tempters like go-kart tracks and adventure-based theme parks, Los Cabos has something for everyone. That includes parents, who can enjoy a little vacation time to themselves while the youngsters are engaged in supervised activities at one of the area kids' clubs.

Most of the larger area lodgings offer baby-sitting services and kids clubs. Hilton Los Cabos Beach Resort, located in the Tourist Corridor that connects Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo, boasts some of Baja Sur's most playful programs, with a slate of activities and amenities aimed at children ages 4-18. The Hilton Cabo Kids Club provides "movies under the stars," tasty instruction in cake and cookie decoration and introductory Spanish classes, as well as plenty of arts and crafts and board games. And if the young ones are suffering from any travel-related stress, sign them up for some of the age-appropriate spa treatments at the onsite Spa Oasis. You're never too young to be pampered, after all.
Surfing is cool at any age, and High Tide Sea Expeditions offers lessons and guided rides at top Baja surf spots like Cerritos, on the Pacific Coast north of Cabo San Lucas, and Costa Azul, just outside San Jose del Cabo. 'Guided' is the operative word at High Tide, and the local adventure company's supervised kayak and snorkel trips to Land's End and Lover's Beach are fun for the entire family. Looking for something a little less active? Try one of their off-road jeep explorations of East Cape sites like Cabo Pulmo and Santiago, or an educational introduction to San Jose del Cabo's historic Art District.

Cabo Dolphins is also popular with the younger set. There's something magical about swimming with these playful and intelligent creatures, and the encounter programs allow kids to interact with a dolphin in a safe, shallow water environment. Dolphin hugs and kisses create huge smiles, and the photos make unforgettable souvenirs of your child's Los Cabos sojourn. Seasonal whale watching trips and camel safaris are available through Cabo Dolphins parent company, Cabo Adventures.
Other great family-friendly adventures include sail and snorkel trips aboard the pirate-themed Buccaneer Queen, and Land's End tours courtesy of Cabo Submarine, a 60' semi-submersible with an underwater viewing cabin that provides up-close-and-personal-looks at Cabo San Lucas Bay's most colorful fish. Both are perfect for younger children. Teenagers, on the other hand, will appreciate Baja's biggest theme park, Wild Canyon Adventures, which features hair-raising high-altitude experiences like zip lining and bungee jumping.
