During the past two years, Los Cabos has played host to several large international events, including the G-20 economic summit and the inaugural Baja International Film Festival. That trend continues next month with the premiere of the first Cabo Comedy Festival, a five-day fiesta of funny that will bring some of the world's best stand-up comics to the southernmost point of Baja California Sur.
In addition to stand-up sets at four Cabo San Lucas nightclubs - Cabo Wabo Cantina, Desperado's, Hard Rock Cafe, and Pink Kitty - the festival will also feature a rising talent competition, a celebrity roast, celebrity golf and poker tournaments to benefit a local children's charity, panel discussions, social events, and an awards ceremony that includes a lifetime achievement award.

Billed as "where the land ends and the laughs begin," the inaugural Cabo Comedy Festival will be held October 2-6, with scheduled performers and panelists that include highly-regarded comedians Will Durst, Paul Rodriguez, Alonzo Bodden, Kevin Pollak, Bobby Slayton, Niecy Nash, Joe DeRosa and Nikki Glaser.
"Cabo is already LA's playground," said festival creator and producer John Zaring. "And with its awesome weather, beautiful beaches and abundant nightlife, it is the perfect place for a festival that's been built to both fill a void in the industry and be a premier destination for comedy fans."
Performers and guests at the first-time festival will be welcomed in style at area luxury resorts like Casa Dorada Resort & Spa, Cabo Villas Resort, Wyndam Tesoro, Villa del Arco, Villa del Palmar, Cabo Lifestyle Villas, and Bahia Hotel and Beach Club.
