A small bar recently opened in an unlikely Cancun location . . . in the food court of a popular shopping mall. Blue Bar has a small take-out restaurant, in the food court at Plaza Forum by the Sea, and right next door is the hip & trendy little bar. Blue Bar has the best view in town; an unobstructed view of the Caribbean Sea can be seen from the bar's terrace.
The bar is open daily, from 11am until 3am, but the kitchen is only open from 11am until 10pm. Inexpensive Mexican cuisine is served at Blue Bar. In fact, the most expensive item on the menu is a ribeye steak, at $149 pesos. Liquor prices are lower than most bars and restaurants in the hotel zone so that alone is a great reason to try this new bar/restaurant.
If the weather is bad, or it's just too hot to sit outdoors, there are tables indoors, in the food court dining area. Saying this restaurant is in a food court really isn't fair. You see, the food court at Plaza Forum by the Sea only has five or six eateries so its rarely crowded and you will likely be able to enjoy some drinks, or a reasonably priced meal, in a relaxed setting.
Plaza Forum by the Sea is located in Cancun's "Party Center", the area where the big nightclubs can be found. Blue Bar is on the third floor of the mall. The restaurant does not accept credit cards at this time, so be sure to take cash.
