Xcaret Park’s night show, Xcaret Mexico Espectacular, is quite possibly the most amazing show in the entire country of Mexico. Who would have thought that it could actually be improved?
Well, Experiencias Xcaret has achieved the impossible and created an Xcaret Mexico Espectacular that is even more breathtaking than before.

After a day of swimming in the underground river; strolling the cemetery; feasting on a delicious buffet; visiting the monkeys, jaguars and sea turtles; and climbing Mayan pyramids, visitors of Xcaret Park – located just south of Playa del Carmen – make the short trek to the Gran Tlachco.
It's at this spectacular theater that the Xcaret Mexico Espectacular show has been performed almost every night since March 2002. The Gran Tlachco feels like an ancient Mayan coloseum, but it boasts the most modern of technology, and it’s all topped off with an immense palapa roof.
Showtime is 7 p.m., but most people head to the Tlachco early in order to purchase snacks and get the perfect seat. (There aren’t actually any bad seats in the house, since the theater is stadium-style.) There are videos and musical entertainment before the show, which begins with the entire audience holding lit candles and a moving moment of silence for world peace.

The first half of the show is an exciting glimpse into life before the Spanish conquistadors.
Two types of Mayan ball games are played, complete with live music and visual effects on the floor – one of the new high-tech additions to the show. The audience quickly gets caught up in the game and cheers as if they were at a basketball or football match.
There's also a dramatic look at the arrival of the Spaniards.

After a 10-minute intermission, Xcaret Mexico Espectacular returns with a look at individual states and areas of Mexico and showcases their traditional costumes, music and dances. Norteña and mariachi music and more are performed live by talented musicians.
What makes this show so special is not only the colorful, detailed costumes and sets, the high-tech effects and set designs and the live music, but also the more than 300 actors, dancers and musicians that bring the show to life. Their enthusiasm is contagious.
Joyful, humorous and touching moments lead up to a heart-stopping finale.
Every member of the family, from the youngest to the oldest, will enjoy Xcaret Mexico Espectacular. The show is guaranteed to make you fall head over heels in love with Mexico.
If you only leave the resort for one day during your vacation, Xcaret is the perfect place to experience the best of Mexico and the Yucatan Peninsula.
