If you're looking for a quick, simple, healthy, delicious meal during your visit to Cancun, Ty-Coz is a great option. This extremely popular cafe/sandwich shop serves good coffee, sodas, croissants and fresh french baguettes filled with quality deli meats and cheeses.
There's often a line at Ty-Coz, but that's because the food is tasty and economical. Their “Baguette Economico,” which is 12 inches long and includes ham, salami, cheese, and a delicious garlic-herb mayo spread, is a mere 15 pesos (about 1.15 USD). The more expensive baguette sandwiches are very large, can be shared and are only 55-70 pesos (4.30 – 5.35 USD). All sandwiches also come in a croissant version and include chicken, ham, salami, turkey and tuna options.
A favorite is the Baguette de Pechuge de Pollo which features thick slices of roasted chicken breast, tomatoes, cheese, a tasty green dressing and Ty-Coz garlic-herb mayo spread. There are also two vegetarian sandwiches; one with cucumber, onion, tomato, shredded carrot and jalapeños, the other with olive oil, vinegar and Parmesan cheese.
The original Ty-Coz is located in downtown Cancun on Tulum Avenue next to the Commercial Mexicana and across the street from the ADO bus station. They're open Monday-Saturday from 8 am-10 pm. The Hotel Zone location is in Centro Comerical El Parian, right next to the Cancun Convention Center; this location closes early. There are some outdoor tables you can stand at while eating, but most folks get their Ty-Coz to go. There are many other express versions in the Cancun area.
