On December 28, 2013, Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort in Cancun closed out 2013 with an incredible concert by international superstar and Grammy award-winning artist Ricky Martin. The resort is sure to host even more popular live entertainment events in 2014.

The concert, held on the Moon Palace’s golf course, was completely sold out. The 13,000 audience members were made up of guests and locals. Moon Palace guests who booked a stay of five nights or more in Sun Palace, Beach Palace, Playacar Palace and Le Blanc received two complimentary tickets to the performance as part of the resort’s “awe-inclusive” concept.
This was the Latin Grammy winner’s first concert in either the U.S or Mexico in two years. Martin was accompanied by both male and female dancers and talented musicians from all over the world. The stage included giant video screens to assure concert-goers wouldn’t miss one smile or dance move.
Martin started the show with “Come with Me” and went on to sing many of his greatest hits in both English and Spanish, including "Vuelve," "La Bomba," "Te Extrano, Te Olvido, Te Amo," "Livin' La Vida Loca," "She Bangs," "Shake Your Bon Bon" and "The Cup of Life," the official song of the 1998 FIFA World Cup. After saying good night (or, well, buenas noches), Martin returned to play one more number: his 1995 hit "Maria."

Before and after the show, attendees were able to enjoy cocktails and hors d'oeuvres right outside the concert area, where there was a DJ and tents set-up by various vendors. The event was very well organized . . . It’s no easy feat holding a concert for 13,000 people at a resort. Guests and locals were transported to and from the concert in large busses.
The world-class shows and events at the Moon Palace set the bar very high for Cancun resort entertainment. In addition to Ricky Martin, the hotel has hosted concerts by Shakira, Enrique Iglesias, Air Supply and Usher. Ricky Martin: Live in Concert was produced by Lee Tofanelli and Associates, Inc., a company that has been providing concert production, talent acquisition and television production services to domestic and international clients for over 30 years.

The “awe-inclusive” entertainment at the Moon Palace Golf & Spa continues into 2014 and beyond. Legendary band Chicago will appear February 14 - 15, 2014, and Grammy award-winning artist Michael Bolton will perform March 29-30, 2014. From January 20 to April 30, 2014, Moon Palace will host mentalist Ryan Oakes, a professional sleight-of-hand artist, magician and mentalist, one of the most sought-after entertainers in the industry.
