Hacienda Tres Rios Resort, Spa & Nature Park was recently honored by Perspective Magazine, a publication geared towards time-share and vacation club owner. The luxury resort, located in Riviera Maya, was given the Best Green Initiative award, by Perspective Magazine.  The hotel also won this award in 2011.

The resort was given the award because of everything they do to preserve nature and for striving to be a sustainable property. Natural materials and products obtained locally, like the mahogany wood or Mexican marble, are used in the guest rooms and the resort is set in the middle of Tres Rios (means "three rivers") ecological park; a protected area. The ecological park was once open to the public but, now, it is exclusively for guests of Hacienda Tres Rios. Surrounding the hotel are over 300 acres of land, that feature three rivers, nearly a dozen cenotes (natural springs), an estuary and, of course, a beautiful beach.

Guests can take guided tours of Tres Rios park, kayak down the three rivers, bike through the jungle, swim in cenotes, or just relax on the beach. Tours of botanical gardens, yoga and meditation classes, and cooking classes (using all natural ingredients, of course) are also available to guests.

This hotel is taking great strides to protect the environment and to educate the public on how to save our planet from further peril, but don't think that guests are "roughing it" at Hacienda Tres Rios.  Quite the contrary, actually.  The all-suite property has 273 guest suites; the smallest being 645 square feet. The suites feature high-quality, Egyptian cotton linens and many of the accommodations have jacuzzis.

The "Endless Luxury All-Inclusive Plan" includes all meals,  snacks, premium alcoholic beverages, 24-hour room service and a fully-stocked mini-bar. Cooking classes, fitness classes, tours of Tres Rios eco-park, and tequila tastings are just some of the extra features that are also included in the "Endless Luxury" package.

If you want to get back to nature, without sacrificing even one bit of comfort, then Hacienda Tres Rios Resort, Spa and Nature Park is the perfect resort for your next Cancun vacation.
