Puerto Aventuras is a private gated community located in the Riviera Maya between Playa del Carmen and Tulum.
The development includes villas, condos, hotels, and a marina and golf course and is modern, clean and well-maintained. Puerto Aventuras is considered the center for sport fishing in the Riviera Maya. Activities, hotels and restaurants abound.
Many foreigners live in Puerto Aventuras full or part time so the community has an international feel. It is quiet, safe, patrolled around the clock, and hosts the areas only maritime museum in the area. Visitors enjoy the small town feel of this development built on the ancient Mayans' stomping grounds.
See & Do
You won’t get bored in Puerto Aventuras, that’s for sure. Check out the local wildlife while you practice your swing on the 36 par golf course which was designed by Thomas Leman in 1991. Then head to the marina where there are endless activities available, including swimming with dolphins and manatees at Dolphin Discovery, sailing, sport fishing, snorkeling and scuba diving. If you are in the mood to simply relax, head to the beaches of one of the three bays, Fatima, Chan Yu Yum or Chac Hal Al and spend the day relaxing under a beach umbrella with a good book.
Eat
There are many international dining options in Puerto Aventuras, and no chain restaurants! El pueblito on the marina is an open air food court. Dine while watching the resident dolphins in action. Xenote boasts the only palapa beach bar in Puerto Aventuras. Watch the big game at Trebol, or have a cerveza and chips and salsa at The Pub. If you’re the mood to belt out some tunes, try Gringo Dave’s for international food and karaoke. Check your e-mail at Café Café. If you feel like staying in, order pizza from Pizzeria Puerto Aventuras. There is no shortage of dining options for visitors in Puerto Aventuras.
Stay
The area is largely residential and businesses, restaurants, and hotels must adhere to the strict zoning regulations, so the community has a very private, neighborhood feeling. Small boutique hotels like Casa de la Agua and Casa Mariposa have an intimate feel. Five star hotels like Dreams Puerto Aventuras and Aventura Spa Palace offer all the amenities that you could ask for. There is also the option to rent an entire villa with its own infinity pool and invite all of your family and friends to join you. No matter which route you choose, one things is for sure, you will enjoy your stay in Puerto Aventuras.
