Jimmy Woo Lounge — Photo courtesy of Jimmy WooOne of Amsterdam’s most luxurious and exclusive nightclubs will celebrate its tenth birthday this December. Jimmy Woo will throw a big party, welcoming numerous DJs that have played over the last ten years, some of the club’s first fans, as well as friends of founder and owner Casper Reinders. "We will make it a crazy and fun party," said Fabienne Bouland, Public Relations and Marketing with Tao Group.
Jimmy Woo opened in 2003, and right from the beginning, had an exclusive reputation. That year, Ocean’s Eleven was filmed in Amsterdam. "Brad Pitt and George Clooney came to Jimmy Woo six nights straight," said Bouland.
“People picked it up, and everybody wanted to be there,” she said.
The idea for the club started with a single fictional character: Jimmy Woo. Reinders thoughtfully developed the personality.
“He pretend[ed] the person was really living,” said Bouland. “Everyone thought Jimmy Woo was a real person who owned the club. He has a bedroom in the club, where you can sneak a peak inside, … but he was never there.”
The character even had his own business cards. Now, the secret is out and people know Jimmy Woo doesn’t really exist.

The club has welcomed big name DJs, such as Jaziah, The Flexican and The Partysquad. David Guetta even played at the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE).
Jimmy Woo has won awards such as the “Dutch Design” prize and “Best Sound Club in the Netherlands.” While the club has a door policy and rules, Bouland says the best way to get in is to be on the guest list or just be friendly and dress to impress.
