Voted Best Family Pool by USA Today in 2011 and one of the best pools in the U.S. by TripAdvisor in 2006, Mandalay Bay Beach definitely knows how to make a splash with Vegas visitors. Mandalay Bay Beach — Photo courtesy of MGM Resorts International
The aquatic playground at Mandalay Bay features a 1.6-million-gallon wave pool with waves up to six feet high, a 200-yard lazy river, four swimming pools, a jogging track, three whirlpools and a vast array of lounge chairs, gazebos, private cabanas and bungalows, all centered around 2,700 tons of real sand. It also has its own three-story Beachside Casino, where gamblers can play blackjack, roulette and craps in climate-controlled comfort.
While the beach is generally only open to hotel guests, locals and non-hotel guests alike can visit its upscale, “toptional” adult-style pool experience, Moorea Beach Club. Set amidst Mandalay Bay Beach, Moorea features dipping pools, cushioned chaise lounges, comfortable daybeds and a private VIP pavilion, as well as an infinity-edge hot tub by the bar. Open to guests ages 21 and older (except during the winter months when it substitutes as the resort pool for those brave enough to face the cold), it’s truly one of the more luxurious adult pools on the Strip.

Guests can sit on the sand or wade in the surf as they listen some of the biggest names in music perform on a one-of-a-kind stage suspended above the resort’s signature wave pool, providing a concert-going experience unlike any other. Past performances include Ringo Starr and the All Starr Band, Pitbull, The Beach Boys, Chris Isaak and OneRepublic.
Mandalay Bay Beach is open seasonally (March-November); hours vary.
